Parkfield School Parents and Friends Association (PFA)

Who are we?

Parkfield School Parents and Friends Association was formed in May 2014 and consists of a group of families, friends, staff and the wider community, who wish to support the children of Parkfield School.

Why are we here?

We are an organisation that supports the school ethos of nurturing, enabling and inspiring the children at Parkfield School. We will accomplish this by holding fundraising and social events to purchase equipment and provide financial support in all areas of school life.

The PFA also hopes to play an important role in helping children, families and staff at Parkfield School to support each other.

To build and maintain an inclusive and welcoming multi-generational school community (students, parents, teachers, grandparents, friends, wider families) where everyone feels included and welcome.

What do we do?!

The PFA meet formally once every half term, alternating between meeting during the school day (usually before afternoon pick-up), and during the evening. At this meeting we decide upon upcoming events that we will organise and discuss any purchases/donations towards specific things requested by and for the school community.

So far we have run several events including a cake sale, balloon race, summer fair, lolly and popcorn Fridays, school discos and our popular quiz nights.

We have donated over £1,000 to the school’s book supplies throughout every year group, purchased French and Spanish dictionaries for the classes, and some treats to the students at the end of terms e.g. lollies and popcorn.

We would love to hear your thoughts and ideas about events that could be run in the future, and welcome new members at any stage during the school year.

There is no pressure for members to attend every meeting, or help at every event, - all contributions of time and effort no matter how big or small are gratefully received and appreciated by us and Parkfield School.
